Oliver is 1 Month Old!

Oliver Thomas is 1 month old today! I cannot believe how fast time has flown already...yikes! Here is what Oliver is up to these days...

Weight: 11 lbs. 14 oz.
Height: 23 inches
What he's wearing: Size 1 (almost 2) diaper, 3-6 month clothes (I had to pack up most of his 0-3 month clothes by the time he was 2 weeks old)
Special tricks: Oliver has started smiling in the past couple of days...melts my heart! He has also found his hands and is starting to find his voice by cooing and making other little noises. He has been trying really hard to suck on his fingers and/or thumb but hasn't quite mastered it yet.
Eating: Every 3 hours
Sleeping: Goes to bed after his 8 pm feeding and wakes up every 3 hours to eat. He's very punctual...you could set a watch by him. After he eats, he goes right back to sleep. He wakes up around 8 or so every morning.
Activities: Oliver likes tummy time, looking at books and listening to his mama sing. He also likes hanging out with the other babies at the moms group and story hour we go to each week.

Oliver is such a sweet and easy baby. He has brought his daddy and me so much joy in the past month! We can't wait to see his personality begin to emerge in the coming months.

Go Cubs!

A few weeks ago, Daddy got a new Cubs shirt for his birthday, and Oliver got a Cubs picture for his room. Mama got a whole lot of nothing except these two handsome men!

Aunts and Uncles and Friends, Oh My! - Part II

We have still had lots of family and friends coming by to visit Oliver. Here are a few pictures from the past couple of weekends.

Uncle David, cousin Andrew, and Grandma and Grandpa K. came to visit also. Some of them were busy playing a rousing game of football, though, so I didn't get any pictures of them with Oliver.

Thank you to everyone who has come to visit us in the past few weeks! It has been so nice to catch up with so many people!

Oliver's 2 Week Check-up

On Tuesday, May 3, Oliver saw Dr. McManus for his 2 week weight check. He, of course, didn't disappoint. He was up to a whopping 10 lbs. 1 oz. and measured in at almost 23 inches long! This put him in the 99th percentile for both height and weight. Dr. McManus said he looked just perfect, and of course, his daddy and I couldn't agree more!

Aunts and Uncles and Friends, Oh My! - Part I

These past few weeks, Oliver has had A LOT of visitors! First, my best friend, Izzy, came down and spent the day with us. It was so nice to have someone to talk to and hang out with for the day! Thanks Aunt Izzy!

Then, my brother, Matthew, and sister-in-law, Fay, drove down to meet Oliver. We had a nice visit and beautiful weather, for a change, so we got to walk on the Monon.

It's been fun introducing Oliver to so many important people!

Oliver's First Playdate

Last week, my friend, Kim, and her 4 month old daughter, Ari, came over to hang out with Oliver and me. It was his first playdate...ha! Of course, they couldn't have cared less about each other yet! We tried to get a picture of the two of them, but you can imagine how well that worked out. Here's the best I could do...

I'm sure these two will be spending a lot more time together in the coming months!

Oliver's 1 Week Check-up

On Monday, April 25, Oliver saw his pediatrician, Dr. McManus, for the first time. The appointment went very well! Dr. McManus had nothing but good things to say about him. She couldn't believe how quickly he's growing.

When he was born, he was 9 lbs. 4 oz. and 21 1/4 in. long. On Friday, when we were released from the hospital, Oliver was down to 8 lbs. 11 oz. At his appointment three days later, he had already surpassed his birth weight and weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs. 6 oz. and over 22 inches long. He gained 11 oz. in three days! I think we are going to have a linebacker on our hands! This mama couldn't be more grateful to have such a healthy baby boy!

And because the grandparents may be upset if I write a post without pictures, here is one of Oliver that his Daddy just loves...

Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

Even though Oliver was only 5 days old, the Easter Bunny still made sure to pay him a visit this year! In honor of the occasion, he got all decked out in his Easter outfit and kept his Easter basket close by.

He wasn't too sure about this bunny, though. They had a staring contest that lasted quite awhile.

He seemed to like hanging out with this bunny that belonged to his daddy when he was younger...though, this bunny has definitely seen better days!

Overall, we had a nice, quiet Easter at home. Thanks to Don's mom, we even got to enjoy an Easter dinner, even if we couldn't be near family this year.
